LGCS has created an integrated curriculum that blends CCSS (Common Core State Standards) for Kindergarten with learning objectives rooted in farm & nature topics. Our outdoor education program melds traditional classroom pedagogy with the benefits of being more connected with nature. Children learn to be stewards of our environment while experiencing many lifelong health benefits of enjoying a healthy lifestyle and building strong motor skills.
An outdoor education program allows for a unique, hands-on approach to learning that can be easily differentiated to meet the needs of each child. Students will grow and advance their listening & speaking skills, build a strong reading foundation, and learn to express themselves through written language. Nature also provides countless opportunities to learn and interact with a variety of math and science concepts in an authentic way. Children can engage their whole bodies as they explore, learn, and problem solve.
Sr. Kindergarten is equivalent to Kindergarten in the public school. In addition to our one-of-a-kind outdoor learning opportunities, there are many additional benefits to choosing LGCS Sr. Kindergarten; such as smaller class sizes and more individual attention for each student. This is also the perfect setting to support families who need an extra year to decide if they want their child to attend Kindergarten or 1st grade the following year.

We plan to be outdoors as much as Mother Nature allows us to be so children can interact with their environment, and each other, in a safe setting.
The goal of Kindergarten is to help instill a love of education and learning while preparing the students for their next steps in their academic development whether that is Kindergarten or 1st Grade.
Programs run all day long. Families may chose full-day or extended-day Kindergarten for their child. Our goal is to help develop the whole child - academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
